CONTACT DETAILS: The Human Union Movement can be contacted by e-mail at admin@humanunion.info OUR GOALS: The Human Union Movement has been created by people who believe that our human identity is more important than our religious or national identity. We believe that the creation of a “Human Union” will make it possible to develop institutions which respect our human identity rather than deferring it to our religious and/or national (or other non human) identities as happens in today’s world. This is the only way to bring an end to the civil war of humanity and to build a broader form of political justice for human beings. Therefore the mission of the Human Union Movement is to: 1 To promote awareness and understanding of our human identity and common humanity. 2 To promote awareness and understanding of the concept of a “Human Union” as a viable and workable solution to many of the problems facing the world. 3 To promote awareness and understanding of the need for an actual “Human Union” as a viable and workable solution to many of the problems facing the world. 4 To promote discussion and analysis of the possible paths to building a “Human Union.” 5 To build a larger organization that can work more effectively on goals 1—4 and develop an infrastructure through developing branches, fraternal groups, supporter groups or other means for such an organization. WHO WE ARE: We are a small group of people around the world connected by our desire to bring an end to the civil war of humanity and develop a political system which respects our human identity. We are small now but hope to grow. We currently have supporters in the USA, Canada, Australia and Europe. The founder of the Human Union Movement, Dr. Lyndon Storey has a PhD in international relations, has published books and articles on topics related to international justice and has a history of activism in the cause of world peace. Several of our other members also have histories of involvement in campaigns against international inequality and injustice. We have realised the best path is to build a Human Union based on our common humanity and hope you will join us. JOIN US: There are several ways we can work together: Join us as a movement: The most straightforward way to be involved is to work with us directly through this website. That would mean sending us some contact details and we would register you as a supporter, keep you informed of developments, and discuss with you how we could work together and what you could contribute to building our movement. (even good wishes counts as an important contribution). At some point we had planned to ask registered supporters to make a financial contribution but we need a corporate structure to be able to do that. A not for profit corporation called the Human Union Movement has been formed in California. But it does not have enough supporters in California at this stage for it to be active as a corporation. So we do NOT ask for donations at this stage. In fact the Directors of that corporation are considering winding it up. This website is run and paid for by human union movement volunteers from around the world rather than being owned by the corporation formed in California and involvement in the Human Union Movement is open to people anywhere, not just in California. In fact we very deliberately use the word "movement" to mean a movement of people sharing the same ideals and goals rather than formal association or corporation. So anyone who acts to promote a Human Union or similar outcome is part of the Human Union Movement and anyone who leads a group of people promoting a Human Union or similar outcome is a leader of the Human Union Movement. We are a movement, not a corporation or society with formal membership rules. We welcome all who wish to be part of our movement and look forward to hearing from you. Form an associated or parallel group: As our goal is to build a movement we are quite happy for people further afield who have similar ideas to us to go ahead and start their part of the Human Union Movement. You might decide to form you own group, wherever you are, and work in tandem with us, or independently but for the same goals. The concept of the Human Union Movement was created by Lyndon Storey, not for the purpose of keeping him in a leadership position, but to make it as open as possible for anyone anywhere to consider themselves part of the Human Union Movement and act independently or in concert to build it. Wherever the most effective activism and leadership occurs around the world that is where the Human Union Movement is strongest. If we can build a bigger movement lets do it by cultivating support wherever it emerges. Acting independently on your own initiative: Of course this all leads to the conclusion that you can join and support us simply by acting on your own initiative. You might decide to just make the case your own way or be a lone or silent supporter. That is great too. If that is the case feel free to make whatever use you can of the material we put up here.
